Looks like we made it!

Summer Solstice Quilt Top - By Stitchified

Well this quilt has been quite the fun long term project. I designed this quilt in May. I ordered the fabrics in June. I messed around with my plan in Evernote until the first week of July, and three weeks later I made the first block. I finished the last block just before Thanksgiving, and then this weekend?

A quilt top was born. Boom.

It feels so good to see it come together that I’m almost speechless. Did I mention this thing is gigantic? Because holy crap. Right now it measures 90″ x 90″, so it will probably finish around 85″ x 85″ once it’s quilted and bound.  Yikes!

A huge thank you to Nellie from MamaPeaches who encouraged me across the finish line. I am so happy to have finished the quilt top before the New Year. Hooray!

I have no idea how I’m going to quilt this thing yet. Any ideas out there? It may be time to learn a few new FMQ patterns, but I have a slow learning curve there. Any and all tips are appreciated!

Love it! The blocks are stunning.

Wow! I love the modern simplicity of it, yet the blocks look quite complex! Since it’s so big, maybe just some straight line quilting? Whatever you do will look great I’m sure!

Such a beautiful design with wonderful colors! I’d almost echo the pieced patterns in the solid section, just to see how that would look, but I’m sure whatever you do is going to look great! I hope you’ll share photos when the quilting is done!

Oh, it is just a stunner!!! Love the color choices. Hmmm. It might be neat to echo quilt the blocks the. Do a huge chevron whose apex points towards the blocks and which echos itself. Know what I mean? Like the rays coming down from a star:) anyways, LOVE it!
